A Florida lieutenant was suspended from her post after she was caught drunk driving by her fellow officers. 

Lieutenant Christi Ruhtz, 41, of Pinellas County, Florida was reported driving in reverse and honking her horn around 2am Sunday morning. 

A phone call from the scene alerted police to her erratic driving. 

Deputies arrived at the intersection at 130th Avenue and Wild Acres Road where they found Ruhtz alone in the vehicle.

Her eye's were bloodshot and glassy, the Sheriff's Office said.

She also had a 'distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her mouth'. 

The officers had Ruhtz perform sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Ruhtz then submitted to sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on. She was discovered to have a blood alcohol content of 0.14 and 0.13

She at first refused to give officers a breath sample for criminal investigation but eventually was forced to. 

The results revealed she had blood alcohol levels of 0.14 and 0.13, well above the state's impairment bar at 0.08  

She was immediately terminated from her job, as per the sheriff's policy. Following her termination she was taken to Pinellas County Jail. 

She was released on her recognizance.

That same night 12 other drivers were charged with DUIs in a crackdown by multiple police forces in the area.
